  • where did you buy the guitar

  • Music store in Thailand.

    This model has been discontinued.

But I think you can find it on ebay or some music store near you.

  • how do these pick ups compare to the burstbucker series?

  • I have no idea Bro.

I used to try burstbucker series in the store.

They can make Gibson LP character.

But my feeling 500T Pickup can make Hot sound for metal and 496R Pickup can make warm sound for jazz.

  • is this a special song cover or just improvised at all? :)

    really well done, tought^^

  • I improvised

    thank you

  • you are an amazing player.truly deserve a guitar like that.i love those pickups.

  • @zech2006 i think they brought it back.... not exactly the same but in faded black and faded cherry models. Gibson Les Paul Classic Faded. i'm looking at it right now

  • i have the exact same identical guitar and absolutely love it. Shocked they would discontinue it. oh well more value to my guitar.

  • @B2Rockin Burstbuckers are very thin, not particularly good for anything. The 496R is in my opinion the PERFECT neck pickup. Its ultra bluesy, great clean or dirty. Im actually contacting Gibson Custom Shop (they have a booth at my favourite guitar store) and they will make me a custom one of a kind double white 496.

  • Whaaa?? $3500 guitar, $250 amp...

  • damn good

  • Interesting phrasing and great improvisation, dude. Awesome! ;-) As for the Lester, well, they're not making the Classics anymore, but the Traditional Pro has sort of taken its place in the catalog now. It's also got a '60s neck and non-covered pickups, and it's a solidbody (unlike the new Standards).

  • in my opinion the 498 has too much bass and the 500t is too heavy for a classic les paul. i changed the 500t and took a seymour duncan seth lover instead. But soon i gonna change both pickups to seymour duncan pearly gates. That's the sound i call classic for a les paul.
