  • Interesting interpretation. It's a little different then the basic one I was taught, but my sensei was big into the idea that there were always multiple interpretations of a good kata, and gave all of these interpretations as alternate understandings. I may return to this art, I've been mostly studying western arts of late. The similarities and differences between Western and eastern arts fascinate me. They often do the same things, but explain it in completely different ways.

  • Different method with the kata......

  • my lineage as follows- tatsu shimibuku, jim chatman, don nagle, jesse gallegos, dave machamer, mike edfords, ME! took me 9 years to get blackbelt

  • @786myfist True, once you know siesan you're a yellow, most likely :) Or orange, somewhere along those lines. Can depend on the sensei :)

  • @Gxgcgxssaaa2564, es la primera en la sequencia de Isshinryu.

  • Cual es el numero de esa kata?

  • I studied under Sensei Don Nagle.

  • @IEKUKATAKA yellow is rokkyu and green is yonkyu going in order of 6-1 yellow orange green blue brown 2 brown 1 then black 1-10 not every school is like this correct. Dont be political about it and who was talking about rank prior to this?

  • @786myfist To those that may not know, colors of belts are not standardized world wide, therefore talking colors says little. Besides that, belts represent a grade (not a rank) and, if you really are karate-ka, why not use the appropriate term, like nanna kyu.

  • to nasairuka (again), please the best sensei that ever lived would have to be sensei lee she's the best
