Semana Santa 2009, Procession da Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

Semana Santa in Santo Domingo 2009, "Semana Santa" means the week before Eastern. The Procession starts in the quarter "Zona Colonial" in Santo Domingo. "Semana Santa" is an eventful week in the Dominican Republic. People are active and put on their best cloths. Women and girls dress their hair. Everybody is in high spirits. For this event a lot of Haitian people come into the Dominican Republic.
On the other hand a lot of people get drunk and become aggressive so that they come into conflict. Every year many people are injured or die during the Holy Week.
