1)Describe SAACs current state. Should KP still be a SAAC org?
a.Angie: Current state is turbulent because of al the things going on with SAAC, last year org trying to be part of SAAC, also the question of whether or not KP should be a part of SAAC, KP should still be part of SAAC to empower underrepresented students which is in line with SAACs constitution, people part of KP are for the most part underrepresented people, so we should take advantage of what SAAC has to offer, KP does a lot with social justice and KP has a lot they do concerning that especially with PCC but outside of that dont know what KP does to advocate for social justice, we need to be allies with SAAC members with a lot of them not being represented on campus and we should be reaching out to them, events of February, why was API community split, we all have our own opinions but as a org we should know where we should go with that, as allies there is a continuum with that, with all the injustices going on not taking a stand would be a lot more hurtful.
b.Camille: The current state SAAC: agree with Angie, within the past three years this is the most unstable its been, but give a lot of credit to Social awareness and community activism for keeping us in the loop, at SAAC meetings its lackluster, no passion, in order for us to fix that, KP should be, part of our mission statement is promoting equity for underrepresented students aside from Filipin@-American students. I want to see the relationship between SAAC and KP to be restructured, to find the leaders with passion and strive for equity and equality. As far as support, it just needs restructure. If we can even share Google Docs, that could even change how SAAC is run, fully functional given the right foundation, SAAC has a lot of potential, it just needs good leaders to go far and can be reformed next year given the opportunity.
c.Angie: SAAC is fragmented but KP can pull a lot of weight because were a big org, but I dont know what KP is doing to maintain the integrity of SAAC, to be allies means to be support SAAC and work with them and conquer things not addressed publicly on campus, it would hurt me to see KP as not part of SAAC, thats what drew me to KP because of its ideals to rep underrepresented students, so KP as an org should work on the relationship with SAAC and within KP.
d.Camille: KP needs to stay in SAAC and also because KP is the biggest org on campus in general and as KP, as a board and as a collective, we need to put SAAC at the top, there is a stigma with making our main events come first and if we prioritize where KP needs to go with SAAC now and make sure that ALL of Board is on the same page, then as a collective unit within KP can go so far but at the same time it takes two. We need to see the same support for SAAC and if we show love to SAAC, that love can be reciprocated and SAAC can go far next year.
