I think of it like this: Back in the day when men were hunters, status was everything. Your access to women and food was completely dependant on it. The best hunter had the highest status. Meanwhile, women were gathering food (picking fruits and shizz) and taking care of the kids. They did this together for maximum protection. In those settings, being connected with the other women was very important. Just think about how women use the phone to talk to other women.
