Here is a look at my Aquaponic System in the winter. Filmed 2 weeks ago when a cold spell came through the northwest. Waiting until spring, the fish huddle together.

  • i hear putting mulch around will give a lot of heat during decomposition .

  • Sounds like a good idea, maybe all try it since were heading into winter. Thanks for watching.

  • this is really helpful i wondered what happened in the winter i wanna grow strawberrys and would have to leave them in over the winter

  • I didn't have any problems with the system, njust had to check and make sure everything didn't freeze up. I also never fed the fish until the water temp rose above 50 degrees.

Thanks and have a wonderful day,

    John

  • @amishjim Oh, and I love this rig. there's a place that sells those for $80 near me.

  • @Aquaponic 3 years later are you still doing this project? If not was there any particular issue or just moved on?

  • Do steel uesd it

  • may I ask what is the top box for????????

  • Did you have any freeze problems in the spring when it thawed out? Split pipes, grow beds or tanks?

  • Damn dude, why couldn't you put it in the garage, it'd be a lot warmer in there

  • this makes me want to throw up

  • I would like to know where exactly that you bought the water tank from and the cage. I would absolutely love to have a set up like this. I have seen something on the lines of this before on a television show called "Growing Power." With this setup and with the use of some heirloom seeds and a green house or grow dome, you could max out your yeild year round! Awesome video and thanks for putting it on youtube!

  • Thanks for sharing this information.

Do you have any more update videos?

    Thanks!
