C'est vraiment une interprétation extraordinaire ; personnellement je n'ai rien entendu d'aussi beau dans cet air : Domingo, Carreras, Alagna, Shicoff etc., sont très loin de cette prestation. Alain Vanzo aurait pu rivalisé mais je ne connais pas denregistrement. Quelle musicalité, la diction est remarquable et le timbre magnifique. FORMIDABLE.

C'est un des meilleurs tenors de notre aire. La voix est magnifique et il est aussi un grand wagnerien, il faut voir son concert avec Levine..

Carreras ne chante pas la cabalette, et puis BEN a une vois pour wagner, c'est un grand interprete de ce compositeur.

Ce ténor a développé sa voix d'une facon extraordinaire et remarquable. Saviez-vous qu'il a gagné le concours national de Radio-Canada en 1979 avec l'air "Il mio tesoro" de l'opéra Don Giovanni de Mozart? Il a travaillé avec John Vickers et est considéré comme son "héritier. Sa voix s'est transformée dans les années 80 en travaillant avec Brian O'Neil (je ne suis pas certain du nom). En tous les cas, c'est tout un chanteur et tout un acteur aussi! Bravo monsieur Heppner!

I agree that Heppner sings in a lyric way even though his voice is huge. Which means that being lyric or dramatic has also to do with the character of the singer, not only the voice. Carreras or Alagna sing this piece in a more dramatic way even though they have the lighter instrument. By the way, who was Heppners teacher?

I agree that Heppner does a good job of it here, but he is essentially a big lyric tenor even though he had success with Wagner. His teacher told me, "He's really a big lyric you know." I prefer to hear voices with a less lyric timbre do this role. Tucker was great in it. Caruso was unmatched by anyone.
