I just love Joplins on a piano that's a little out of tune.
This is one of my favourites!

For some of you that are making comments about the Piano ruining the sound, please understand that this piano is from an earlier era and if scott joplin had played this song himself the quality of the sound would have been probably similar to this back in the days when it was written. So really it gives it song a more authentic feel for the era this song is from.

Nice rendition of Joplin/Marshall's little "cake-walk". I'm learning this, but on flute! I'm hoping to add in whem/if I end up going tto Sutter Creek this summer for their RagFest!
By the way, I love the tuning of this piano!

what kind of book do you have? most books show different notes but actually those are the correct

Aww~ It's such cute music x)

... sympathic, that, in the end you did a cute mistake... wonderful interpretation, with a steady beat, loving it!

@Ragtime85 Yes, the piano is perfect for it!

You're really good!!

I love this song; especially on an old piano like yours. If it isn't old, then it's a little out of tune, which is the best while playing ragtime. <3

good job!
thanx to you an scott!
(what would ragtime fans do without tempo-discussions??????????)

Great! I'm learning this song myself! Love it!

it's actually perfect tempo. (i think)

What advice do you have for learning this piece? I am learning it for a ragtime competition. Thanks!!

i would definitely focus on keeping the beat steady. the nice thing about ragtime is that it all matches up somewhere, not like chopin pieces. use the left hand as a way to steady the beat.
Good luck, and let me know how it turns out!
