Scavenging can work for you for against you. In the case of the old water heater, it was time to cast it aside and go looking for a proper tank. It would mean outputting a little money, but with a used building materials yard, I had to find something good, for cheap. So, here we go on a visit to Gerson's Used Building Materials in Tucson, Arizona.

  • I hadn't thought about the dump. hummm . . .

I had thought about hardware stores, and called them, but no go, unfortunately. They contract with companies that keep all the tanks.

I was thinking about making a rocket stove with a couple. :)

  • you can go to the dump. they have tons of them. for 5.00 . they will load them for you to. also lowes, home depot etc. the installers throw them in the trash. call and ask for one. i actually have 7 i got from lowes. i make feeders for my life stock.

  • Yeah, I had a couple plumbing co's looking, but to no avail. :) That's why I went to Gerson's. Thanks, though.

  • call a plumbing co. ask an old tank . bet they give it to you free.
