4 Corners Motorcycle Mod Trap

5/30/09 CHP set up a motorcycle mod trap at four corners (HW9 and HW35 Santa Clara County, CA). There were 5 or 6 CHP bikes waving people over. I ended up with a fix it ticket for "no rear facing reflector due to modification of the license plate mount". I plan on looking up the penal code. The officer was pleasant enough. He also mentioned that my turn signals were not DOT approved, so officially it was like I did not have any and mentioned that I did not have a license plate light. Could have been worse... *UPDATE*
To make this even better, the courts tried to process this as a Non-Correctable Violation even though the Officer marked correctable on the ticket, and the CVC clearly includes the VC cited as a Correctable Violation which is the difference between a $164 fine and a $25 fine!!! After several calls to the Santa Clara Clerk's office (the first clerk was horribly rude and unhelpful) I got it fixed and am in the process of fixing it so I can get the ticket signed off.

Yeah man, I have my license plate between my passenger pegs above the rear tire. I got pulled over (for speeding) and he also got my for not having a 1 1/4 inch reflector and not license plate light. BUUTTT from what I see, the lights cast a shadow on the numbers and plus aren't license plates reflective?? Aren't they clearly reflective when bright lights are on em? Hella dumb. Robbing me. Fuckers.

I rode a motocycle in south florida for 7yrs. Within that time.I must have gotten over 100 tickets.No mirrors,turn signals,reflectors etc.crap! Hell there was a time i just rode at night.and stayed away from the beach.on bike nights.I would park it away from the pack.Cops walk around giving tickets!assholes!

Waaa......just like everyone else....doing their J-O-B. If you have your sh*t together, then no worries, you're not breaking the law. Driving is not a right, it's a privilege (2 or 4 wheels). And to write that all cops are jerks is like saying are riders are jerks too. Ignorance breeds contempt. I got pulled over by a couple of these douche bags cause my muffler was too loud. But there were a few Civics driving around with louder mufflers than mine when they were giving the warning and hounding me about drugs. To the person who posted profiling, I fully agree. I was lucky I was out of state though.
