@nathanielisaboss the eggs hatch in 2 weeks but seeing this was in 2008 this messegg is worth less but if you ever get an other male and femail black widow you know

@nathanielisaboss wow haha i wish you captured that on video. umm, i'm not sure what they eat.. i think it's unrealistic to hope that all ~100s of the spiderlings will grow up to be full adults. There will be one or two that are strongest/biggest. After they don't look like teeny ghosts, you can try throwing in small insects. i never had a full one grow into full adult size because my dad overestimated what it could handle.. then the baby spider would get eaten lol.. moths and caterpillars work

no its a female

@DTrinh09 LOL no kidding. A jar full of venomous spiders!! Younger species that are venomous release out more venom because they can't control it too!

Just don't scare her. LOL A widow bite, obviously, is nothing to desire! LOL
Man I know this video is 2 years old and all.. but since you caught 2 widows... Catch 2 more and try to do a hatching of the egg vid.. like time lapsed or even it making a web! Those are amazing spiders!

@themaninblack951 of the 15 eggs this widow laid before it died, i have never been able to catch the moment the sac starts to break. it is pretty freaky when the jar is filled with hundreds of tiny widows though..

I literally don't understand why that entire jar isn't on fire? True enough they are going to be around and i'm sure they serve some purpose but why keep them as pets or whatever it is you're doing? Why not stop them in their tracks? I just don't get it.

@xswaxswa because it's fascinating having one deadly spider in a sealed jar and feeding it insects to catch and eat. it's like having your own animal planet show

Thats so sad! Well your spider is beautiful! I named mine Sheila, lol. I just recently moved to Georgia from California, so I let her go free. I even made of video of her walking away as I let her go, she was huge! I'll post it soon. But good job with your spider, did her eggs ever hatch?

Lol cute story. Yeah I think all of them hatched.. but sadly, none of the spiderlings lived to become adults. You can blame cannibalism for that..
