This is a video of my car starting up. I have a 2005 Mercury Sable LS Premium, with a 24 valve DOHC V6 engine. I absolutely love this engine, 205 HP, has great pick up for this type of car. I bought it March 9, 2007, for $11,900, and it only had 21,153 miles on it! It was a steal.

  • the thing I like about the GS over the LS is that the GS has the Column shifter. The thing that would make me nervous about a center console shifter is some drunk idiot fooling around and slamming the lever in to Park or Reverse while driving

  • Just for refrence, you can get an LS with the column shifter. I saw an exact model like mine, only it had the column shifter. I prefer the console though. The column one is very outdated.

  • you have a half tank with 127 miles to empty? I have a 2005 Mecury Sable too and on a half tank i have 200 miles

  • I don't know why it was so low...but as of today...I have a half tank right now...and it says 221 miles to empty. Just depends on what kind of driving...and how you drive. I'm getting 23.4 AVE MPG right now...so that's probably why... :D

  • These are the best looking years for the Sable. They are a great value to buy used. You can always find ones out there with low miles and never driven hard.

  • I agree. And the A/C is ICE COLD! Probably the coldest I've ever felt in any car.

  • Intrepid sucks.

Go to a dealer or an auction. Intrepids are worthless & have terrible resale value. Dealers still pay good money for a Loaded Taurus or Sable

Tis Duratec may be smaller, but they're awesome engines

  • Beautiful car. I like this generation.

  • I just got a 2005 wagon and I LOVE IT......it's loaded, leather seats etc. Probably the nicest car I've ever owned

  • My next 4th gen sable will be a 03-05. I had a 01 GS i had since my junior year of highschool and hurricane irene flooded her she had 183,445 miles i got the car as a gift in 08 with 102,001 miles on it i loved it. It had the console shift theres a video of it on my page. Jasper can rebuild or i atleast think purchase a new AX4N or S from them brand new with improved parts for about $3,000.

  • I find it kind of lazy the dashboard font is the same as my '04 Taurus.

  • I used to have a beautiful silvery-green 01 Sable LS Premium. Honestly it was the best car Ive owned. These drive nice and theyre good on the wallet. Nice vid :)

  • Ford Tarus >> Mercury Sable >> Lincoln Continental

  • @owensri2 yeah it does look somewhat outdated with a Coloumn Shifter......but it does leave alot of space between the seats.

  • I have a 2005 Mercury Sable GS and I had a reading of 300 miles till Empty when I filled up and I got mine used in 2005 with about 23,000 miles and just hit over 83,000 miles this year. Did you know that the 2005 was the last year body style for the 2005 Mercury Sable

  • @owensri2 I have a 96 mercury sable and i swear the ac will give you frostbite haha

  • they are nice. mine is an 04 with 150,000 miles and mostly highway getting 28 mpg with 24v. tranny is less jerky than the vulcan i had before.

  • I miss my 05 Sable GS :(
