David Bowie is David Bowie, Kurt Cobain is Kurt Cobain. They are both musicians who have a characteristic, and no one will replace them.

Bowie is great. He created this song in the first place, and like always, he sings it very well. It's great in it's way. The Nirvana cover of this song is great in it's way. The whole point of grunge is to not be elegant or refined - it's to be raw. Kurt Cobain was obviously a very troubled person and expressed some of his anguish through his music as well as through songs by artists he respected enough to cover. Respect both artists; prefer who you want, but don't hate and don't judge.

How lovely to see that the "old man" could still do this song justice 30 years later!! TOP CLASS backing band too, most of them weren't even born when this was written but the drummer, bass player, rhythm and lead guitarists absolutely NAIL this song!! :-D
