My favorite opera! And I found the ending to be quite refreshing in that instead of the Don becoming afraid of Hell, he stays defiant to the end. Today's audience enjoy villains who remain defiant. One develops a certain respect for them. Look at the films of the 30s and 40s - Bogart in HIGH SIERRA and Cagney in WHITE HEAT. Bravo!

@S14tBrigade Yes, I agree, so natural, so charming, so deep in her soul, the best.

I'd have to say that the set and the costume for the statue is absolutely gorgeous, a nice mix of a presentational style with some twist of representational. Although, i think the tempo was slightly too slow for the vocals in order to keep pace with the music, but its an interesting intereptation of Don Giovanni laughing his way to doom rather than screaming out of fear as seen from other intereptations.

Too slow! They are all struggling the finish the phrases at this tempo.

What the hell is Donna Elvira (Ithink it's her?) on the stage in this scene?!?
The commendatore's horse is amazing... very cool statue of all i've seen in Don Giovanni. but... why does the table had to be that tiny? xD... poor leporello...
