Pain mapping is performed using state-of-the-art tools, local anesthesia and light sedation while the patient is awake. An x-ray injection filled with medication is inserted to find the specific nerve causing the pain. Pain mapping allows a physician to isolate the exact points of pain and be more precise in the treatment of those areas. Patients who undergo this procedure may be able to avoid more invasive approaches to treatment. Don't let chronic back problems keep you from enjoying life!
