I just bought a new-ish computer (Quad 6600) and it came with freshly installed XP Home. I was about to install my gear (VST's samples, etc.) but I've been reading a lot about Windows 7. What's your take? Run with XP or wait?

Greetings, Nice Tutorial :D

Are you using Windows Vista then? I've heard that XP can't handle more than 3 GB of RAM

The theme is just too much of a rip-off from Steinberg's Cubase 4. Even the transport buttons.
The best theme is the original one!
Reaper looks just like Vegas Audio from Sonic Foundry. I wander if Justin was a programmer for Vegas Audio back then, or if Sonic Foundry is trying to make a come back.

good work!
Hey, thanks for the feedback. I am actually using a Core Duo (e6300). Still plenty fast for my purposes though. I am using the latest v4.9 UAD-1 drivers.

I just recently upgraded my CPU to the new much more efficient 45mm E8400 (3Ghz, 6MB L2 Cache, SSE4) and the REAPER/UAD-1 performance is the same as in the video, except I use a lot less native CPU than before, runs cooler & uses less power (about 20W less under load).
