An introduction to Shakespeare's "low comedy," which brought us such classic lines as, "If music be the food of love, play on," "Many a good hanging prevents a bad marriage," and "But be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them," and such characters as Malvolio, Cesario, and Orsino (who declares he is "in love with love"). "Twelfth Night" is part of "The Shakespeare Series," which provides an introduction to six of the Bard's works through the performances of a talented English company. Brief narrative bridges connect the performances of key scenes, forming a compact and dramatic introduction to the play. Structured to preserve the continuity and drama of each play, these introductions offer the first-time reader an opportunity to grasp the main themes and threads of action. Produced by BHE Education, Ltd. Seabourne Enterprises, Ltd. 23 minutes, color.
