VIEW ROYAL - Just four months ago, Jeneece Edroff attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the building that will soon share her name. Today, construction of Jeneece Place is approaching the half-way mark.
When it opens in the new year, Jeneece Place will be a home away from home for out-of-town families who need to travel to Victoria when their children need medical care.
The Queen Alexandra Foundation says Jeneece Place is on track to meet it's fundraising goal of $4.5 million, and with the help of generous builders and suppliers who are volunteering on site, a lot of that money can be earmarked for operating costs.
Jeneece is at camp this week, taking a break from overseeing the project. Last week the Edroffs met with interior designers to choose colours. Jeneece's mom, Angie, says the project is a welcome distraction for her daughter, who has endured two surgeries to remove malignant tumours in the past few months.
