There is a law which caps the financing of political parties in the UK. Taking a politician out to dinner is considered a 'gift', and in the UK the value of 'gifts is also capped.

Its is inherently impossible for any one (or group) of organisation/s to 'finance' a political party in the way that dispatches suggeted.
