In fainess to Banksy, he did start in graf and then used his anonimity and "cool street" imagage very cleverly to sell to a lot of idiots for big money. If there were stations playing music for everbody's tastes with uncensored chat and free galleries all over town displaying graf, neither pirates or street art would ever have taken off!!! It's the only way ro get seen or heard!! .... Plus it's much more of a buzz of course!! The thrill of the chase always is!!

@djbazia Surely it's similar to Djing on pirate radio.... It's a case of needing to break the law to get your stuff out there as unfortunately, commercialism is such that only big record labels get their music on the airwaves and only the same old artwork that appeals to the rich who pay for it gets in to galleries.

@romanywg do you not thing some graffiti can have political point though? i agree that some graffiti is simply dropping a name as many places as possible but some graffiti can be as powerful as propaganda lead posters from governments, and a way of saying something that can't be said aloud for fear of punishment such as graffiti against eastern European communism all those years ago
