  • @t0m0369 did u buy it?...lol

  • Does it have back seats?

  • Oh, pleeeze....top selling convertibles are all made on stand-alone platforms. Chrysler Sebring shares absolutely nothing with PT Cruiser cabriolet, or Mini Cooper convert, or one of the biggest selling roadsters of all time, the Mazda Miata. And while my Pontiac uses same lift motors as Mitsubishi Spyder, that's it - top and weatherstripping are completely different. And a full 7 piece set of stripping for my car from GM Parts direct (the cheapest available discount supplier) is over $1K.

  • No my car is made in the 90s and weather stripping is VERY generic most of all convertibles are engineered by one company japanese, american and german usually co-engineer with a select few companies.

I KNOW what I'm talking about on this one. all you gotta do is look it up what do you have? I can look it up for you.

I've worked on cars for a good while and now I'm studying engineering you get to learn alot about how companies work doing internships.

  • Aftermarket weatherstripping for current model convertibles is rarely made, primarily because of low demand - convertibles usually make up between 5 to 9% of of sales in a given model. So if you have one of those you're generally stuck with OEM. The situation changes once you get into the market for "vintage" cars - aftermarket weatherstripping for 50s and 60s convertibles is readily avaiable, because the makers know collectors will pay top dollar for hard to find replacement parts.

  • Typically you can buy aftermarket weatherstripping made to oem specifications but instead with more modern rubber much cheaper than going to the dealer.

For the most part going to the dealer to buy something is stupid unless its something unique or small.

i.e. I recently repaired a hail beaten Toyota Tacoma I bought the fender from the dealer (at customer request) at over $150 it made in china. vs $25 aftermarket

and I swear to god the aftermarket fit better I had to realign the holes

  • You probably run a roadster or got a good deal and besides it eithier takes an idiot or ignorant to go buy weatherstripping at the dealer. I actually just done a top myself it was canvas also the headliner and all the weatherstripping high quality probably better than what they put on from factory it cost $900 but I did it myself. The only thing I got OEM was the headliner but I got lucky it was on ebay because they discontinued it 6months ago.

  • Earth to the poorly read, rude and vulgar: anyone high enough on the IQ and food chain with a current convertible knows a full replacement OEM weatherstripping set easily runs four figures. And by the way, a Robbins cloth replacement top with heated glass for my car installed professionaly (which I just had done) ran just $780.

  • oh word! you lao too?? hell yea!! we comin up son!! ha you dont come across too many lao people....ever but yea, let me know when you grab that lambo. i wanna see. respects my azn brotha
