I really hated these races... rest of the game is amazing, just not this minigame.

Well, back in the day, anyone who played this game went mindblown because there was nothing as graphically capable or as unique of gameplay as ChronoTrigger. But nowadays, everything in this game is taken for granted. Its still an amazing classic though. I can see where you're coming from though.

I wish the Race theme was featured more in the game (e.g. in some boss battles), it's just too good.

Yeah its pretty unique...you'll notice that the victory music is Lucca's theme though! Interesting.
