Khilafah Conference Britain 2007 - "Khilafah: The need and the method"
Session 1 Talk 2: A View from the Muslim Street
Speaker: Abu Shaker

Abu Shaker has traveled and lived extensively in the Muslim world, which has changed immeasurably in the past few decades. He will carry first hand evidence for the growing strength of feeling for Islam's political ideas throughout the Muslim world, but also that people will only consent to systems of government that are based on their beliefs and values. From Turkey to Turkmenistan -- an expression of Islamic revival is developing that believes true change can only come from re-building the Islamic civilization, and not from narrow tradition or western liberalism.

  • There is a big misconception that the khilafa was destroyed in 1924. The truth is that the Ottoman Empire was never a khilafa. They had a monarchy system which is forbidden in Islam instead of electing their rulers the Islamic way. All of their rulers were from turkey which is ultimate proof that it was just a Turkish empire. The Ottoman Empire began in 1299 so at which point did they become a khilafa. The Ottoman Empire flag was the red Turkish flag rather than the black/white shahada flag.

  • By returning to Islam bro.

  • Yes, we are all longing for an islamic state. The question is, how can we achieve this?

  • Umar Empire is coming.

  • You seem to miss the point of my post.

    Ponder on it.

  • when do u suggest the caliphate ended?

my personal opinion on the matter is when hussien 3layhi alsalam was martyred due to tha fact that the caliphite is the closet to the prophet(characteristics, morals, eman...), and at the time, it is an undoubted fact that the hussien was that person.

do u have another opinion on the topic?

  • Then, there will be a reign of tyrannical rule and it will remain for as long as Allah wills it to remain. Then, Allah will raise it up whenever He wills to raise it up. Then, there will be a Caliphate that follows the guidance of Prophethood."

Then Hudhaifah said, "The Prophet stopped speaking." [As-Silsilah As-Sahihah, vol. 1, no. 5]
