can someone please PLEASE tell me is this only for sewing crafty things like paper? Can I meand and repair, make curtains AND hem jeans? Will this machine go through jeans???

Shouldn't the bobbin winding mechanism also disengage the needle? I have a different Janome model, and it does that; it's just a little safer without the needle flying around for no reason. . .

I am not new to sewing machines, but my bobbin WILL NOT pick up. I can't get the thread to make the loop. Any suggestions?

is a good machine? i'd like to buy it, the janome 1008, and the accesories i buy are only for the janome or they can be used on another sewing machines?
