Le lieutenant-général (à la retraite) honorable Roméo Dallaire discute de l'élimination des enfants soldats, de la suppression des armes légères et de l'importance du développement international.

Sénateur canadien, travailleur humanitaire, auteur et général (à la retraite), le lieutenant général honorable Roméo Dallaire a servi en tant que commandant des forces de la Mission d'assistance des Nations Unies au Rwanda (MINUAR). L'Ordre du Canada lui a été décerné en 2002. Salué par la communauté internationale, son livre « J'ai serré la main du diable -- La faillite de l'humanité au Rwanda », a reçu en 2004 le Prix littéraire de la Gouverneure générale pour les études et essais. Roméo Dallaire travaille maintenant au problème des enfants touchés par la guerre.

Lieutenant-General The Hon. Roméo Dallaire (Ret.) is a Canadian senator, humanitarian, author and retired general. Dallaire served as Force Commander of United Nations Assistance Mission for Rwanda (UNAMIR). Lieutenant-General Dallaire received the Order of Canada in 2002. His internationally-recognized book Shake Hands With the Devil - The Failure of Humanity in Rwanda was awarded the Governor General's Literary Award for Non-Fiction in 2004. Romeo Dallaire is now working on the problem of war-affected children.

  • I would like to thank Mr.Dallaire for everything that he did, my mother is from Rwanda, she is a Tutsi, and besides 3 sisters in Canada and a brother in New Zealand, my mom's family are all gone, ALL! Mr.Dallaire did so much that after watching Steven Silver documentary "The last just man", I needed to find a way to reach to him ans say thank you

  • he came to my high school in Ontario and i got to thank him personally and shake his hand and wished him a peaceful life.

    i can't believe how many people look down on him because his higher ups refused to let him do his job.

    if he disobeyed his orders he wouldn't been able to do anything because he would have been pulled out of command.
