you know i used to do things that this lead trumpet player does. then i realized untasteful it can be. he's a great player...i just don't like the sudden stacks in the middle of the long falls.

I was thinking of commenting the exact same thing, and then I noticed your post. I completely agree! A good section player knows how to blend... we all know you can play, quit show boating already!

In Keith's defense this was the encore piece of the night, the whole band just let it all out. It was about show boating! Listen to the other pieces from the concert and you'll see that it's different.

It's just because it's the encore piece. Keith's a tasteful lead player and if you don't think so than you can disagree with Maynard since he used to be his lead player. Roger Ingram does the same thing at the encore piece at the end of Harry Connick Jr's "Only You" dvd. You can't judge the guy based on this one song, watch the other songs from the night.
