D8233 "Changing Engines" Oct 2007

Okay I admit that this vid is about 4 months overdue, but I've finally got off my arse and put it together, here then is video of D8233 engine change that took place between the dates of Oct 12th & 21st of last year (Please note that all the clips used to make this video have been speeded up by around x2-x4 times as I could not fit it all into the 10 min vid limit) The loco first had to be moved from its place alongside the Baron St shed upto the Diesel depot at Castlecroft, once there it was shunted into position for the craning to take place, the Roof section, side frame and Turbos were all removed first with the resident crane, then the day after a large Hydralic crane lorry arrived to under take the main lifts which saw the generator and then the main engine block removed, the loco was then shunted into the shed at Castlecroft and during the following week a small crew of workers cleaned the grime & old paint off the inside of the engine room & repainted ready for the replacement engine to craned in the following weekend, then with the roof & sideframe refitted the loco was shunted back to Baron St, everything went according to plan and it was a very successfull operation :) and D8233 was a major step closer to running again, but there is still loads to do and we really need your help.

I notice the class 17 clayton has same bore and stroke and is paxman, r pistons and rods interchangable alond with those from ventura (class14)??
