This film has to be one of the best films I have ever seen. It has everything. It has had a profound impact on my life. Sean Penn is fantastic.

Just watched this last night and I bawled my eyes out. It was such a powerful film and I was so moved by what Harvey Milk accomplished.

Sean Penn was surely the worst choice to cast as Harvey Milk. The man is a see-through homophobe and his acting is just lousy. He portrays Milk as an irritating pansy queen, the way every homophobe thinks a homosexual is supposed to behave. The actual H. Milk seemed a pretty regular guy in his persona, not this screaming hysterical queen Seany incarnates. I wonder why Gus van Sant agreed on this shit. The actual Milk seemed manly unlike Penn who has this female-like face on the verge of crying.
