lol "book log" I found that funnier than it should have been. I spent a considerable amount of time one day trying to reason what the 'b' could stand for.

Blog is short for "web log". VLog is apparently meant to be "video log". However, in keeping with proper web vernacular it really should be "v-blog" instead. Just like there is "photoblog" and "MP3blog".

blog is generally the written log, just words....
vlog is a relatively new term referring to a blog in video form.
it seems to run on personal preference what you call it....some people still call their vlogs blogs even though they are in video form...
this whole medium is still pretty new, I think we are all creating it as we go...like what I do here, I call vidart...I interact with a group of people who create original vidart too

I don't think there is a difference. They have writing sections on some websites called "Blogs", so maybe that is where "blog" came from. I think a Vlog is just short for Video Blog. I was wondering the same thing a while ago :)
