We used to joke that the T-37 was Cessna's attempt to convert fuel into noise. The engine made noise way oit of proportion to it's power, which was marginal. It actually didn't perform all that badly at low altitudes but it really got weak up high. It sucked gas big time. We generally burned about 1500 lbs in 1.5 hours. Our indicated airspeeds were usually about 200 knots, true was more. Realistic cruising range was only about 400 nautical miles at high altitude (25,000 max legal).

The video would have been longer but my ears couldn't take it anymore and I was running low on video time anyway

Did you hear the sound of that engine? That is exactly why they nicknamed the T-37 the "Tweet."
