NOTE: This video is Eddie JOKING around-nothing more. He ISN"T being serious about Kung Fu.

Eddie Bravo did a seminar for the Submissions 101 team this past weekend (May 12 2007). We asked him about the Kung Fu controversy in the UFC.

  • Aikido is garbage. Kung fu is garbage. Ninjitsu is garbage. 10th Planet Purple belts can mop up any degree of their black belts. And that's being generous. There's probably white belts that could manage it as well.

You're just not humble enough to admit that you've spent a decade training in an art as worthless as ballet.

  • Cung Le is practicing Kung Fu....wonder how that went against Wanderlei

  • Sanshou is very effective and it comes from kung fu. it involves full contact kickboxing along with wrestling takedowns, throws, and sweeps. Cung Le used it in mma as well.

  • @DestroyerAlexandros Thank you, great points! It also varies on the practitioner. I know a guy who does bjj who's gotten into fights with multiple people and snapped arms like nothing cause he just doesn't care. I also had a friend who does kung fu who's plowed through people just because he's short, fast, explosive and crazy accurate.

  • @lionheartinfidel Well to me a lot of your million variations of jiu-jitsu are shit too. Truth is sport martial arts are more applicable than traditional martial arts but are still in now way even remotely similar to a real fight. It's like the MMA guys who say "MMA is like real fighting EXCEPT headbuts, biting, small joint manipulation, low blows, shots to the back of the head, kicks to a downed opponent..." So in a real fight I wouldn't pick the BJJ guy OR the Karate guy tbh

  • @LazaCDS lol yeah they really don't, a person might know jiujitsu but if you don't get a chance to take the person down than what? He might be a bad ass boxer and defends well to take downs than what? Styles really dont matter it is how they use them to their advantage

  • @6psycho9 styles dont matter? hahahahahahahahahaha ok

  • @LazaCDS lol you are an idiot, styles dont matter its how the person uses that style for their advantage.

  • @lionheartinfidel You forget that there are different types of kung-fu. When something is turned into a sport it must be diluted with rules that protect the safety of the participants.

In other words, kung-fu is supposed to be the art of killing but obviously we don't teach that anymore.

  • @Alexgdmatthew well if you knew anything one the subject of kali you would know ,we train firearms also. And not just in our backyard shootn chickens, lol.

  • @okcsifu well if we are playing what ifs then i guarantee you your kali practioner with his blade wouldnt be shit against me from 4 feet away with my smith and wesson .40 compact
