  • On the PMW-F3 we had a Zeiss Cp.2 50mm Lens. Both where on 0dB and Iris full open, No picture profile.

You are right, they are not in the same price range, However the F3 is still an XDCam Camera, the price diference is basically the S35mm Sensor, PL Mount and Dual SDI Out. For the diference of the price this is what you get, DOF, better lowlight and possibility for external recorders, and this for 7000.- CHF more.

  • So the F3 had a prime 50mm lens and the EX3 had the bundled zoom? If this is right, i assume that the zoom cannot open as much as the 50mm prime?

What about comparing the F3 against EX3 with a Nikon DSLR adaptor and a 50mm lens in both cams?

We need more technical details to see the difference.

  • What distance was between camcorder and candles?

  • @awsman892 well the f3 is at least 5grand more than the EX3 so it isnt that fair of a comparison. but thank you, nonetheless, as it has given me a good indication as to how the EX3 stands up against higher-end indy filmmaking gear

  • @ZorbaMonclar I don't believe it is "unfair" to compare 2 cameras from the same manufacturer in the same product line and in the same price range...... or did I miss something?

  • unfair comparation.

Compair f3 with 5d.... lets see the noise and light.

  • would have been nice to see a different test, i would light my scenes dependant upon camera subject and style, how about mount it on bonnet of car and check it for skew at 40mph, how about the af100, it has slowmo at 1920. F3 still has to downsize, they should reconsider the price though, you can now buy an F900 for the same money or less and that is a better camera than an F3, an opinon

  • Muy bueno el test... Y se que elegir

  • guter test...great job !!!

  • What exposure? What glass?
