I Like To Sing Of Texas is the flip of Hats Off To Texas, this is a red vinyl pressing on Northwestwestern 2405. Heck is a legend in Portland along with Rusty Nails and Ramblin' Rod for their cartoons and other children's programming. Heck Harper started on KPTV (the first station in Portland, and the first commercial UHF station in the Nation in 1952). His show Bar 27 Corral, ran on KPTV from November 1953 - November 1956. I believe it moved to KGW when KGW started and got their NBC affiliation. This is a good song, I hope you like it. Anyone with info. on Heck please comment or comment on the song itself.

  • An excellent presentation about a wonderful performer. A very nice pictorial tribute.

Where'd you manage to find all of those great photo's? I played with Heck and his band when it was on KGW TV Circle-8 Hoedown. Those were fun days. Ray Montee

  • Good old Lester Flatus and Jody.
