Today I remove the rear wheel bearings and seals from the Dana 60 and show what is meant by a fully floating rear axle.

  • Hey thank you so much for the video good sir! I would like to ask what steps you took to get out that nasty little inner bearing..and how you got off that bothersome hub. Other than that, due to your excellent instruction you took the scary out of doing it!..I have replace the outer bearings in the same axle and had little to no problem..granted I snapped off a bolt inside the hub I managed to finger it out! lol If you have any commentary on my situation it would be appreciated. Thanks! :)

  • @richmistar250 getting the inner bearing and seal out was easy, I had a seal driver that was large enough that it didn't fall thru the bearing and yet fit thru the top of the hub, I just pressed everything out. It did distort the seal with the bearing pressing on it but I planned to replace it anyways. The seal is the only thing holding the bearing in, so you could just wreck the seal. The races were carefully tapped out with a punch and hammer, be careful not to nick the bearing surfaces.
