This track by Birmingham band Great Outdoors was a 1985 single but this is taken from the 1986 album 'Making Allowances For The Jargon...' I recall that Martin Silvers, the singer, worked in a record shop (that I've forgotten the name of) and used to put on gigs at the Outrigger. I saw the band play a few times at various long-gone Brum venues

  • Yes, it was Highway 61, i got my Dylan/Stones references mixed up :), (i was drinking with Jez two weeks back and gave him the heads up about this 'vid')

  • Nope, it was Highway 61 - yes, in Fletcher's Walk - then moved to Wolverhampton, then on-line.

  • I think the record shop was called 'Route 66' in Fletchers Walk (in the underpass by the Birmingham library). I occasionally still see drummer Jez McManus as he's a mates older brother
