i train in krav maga but one thing i never questioned is how far or how much damage can i do in the name of self defense without being in trouble with the law cause ive had mates who have been charged for self defense and the reason being is they went too hard? that sounds stupid to me but apparently there is a law like that.

Haim Gidon was Eli Avikzar's CIVILIAN Krav Maga student. Haim did not have contact with Imi until 1985, nor did he have Krav Maga experience in the IDF. Eyal too was a civilian Krav Maga student of Eli's and never had military Krav Maga training - only civilian.

There are very few people in the world today who were there thru the development of Krav Maga and who were taught by Imi and Eli. Closest thing you will find to REAL Krav Maga is PURE KRAV MAGA and Eli's organization Krav Magen.

@MrCalathea not arguing that, but Haim was his TOP student. That's why he co-founded the first KM organization in Israel with him.

@MrCalathea I don't know exactly what happened between them, but I know for a fact that Haim Gidon co-founded the ORIGINAL Krav Maga association in ISRAEL and the WORLD. I know that because I trained with him in Isreal and he showed me legal documentation to prove it...

I'm not saying the instructors in this video are bad, but I'd like to set the record straight.

If you want to learn REAL Krav Maga, search the IKMA. The original Krav Maga organization in Isreal, run by the REAL Krav Maga grand master, Haim Gidon, who co founded the organization with the undisputed founder of Krav Maga, Imi Lichtenfeld. Eyal was also one of Imi's students, but not the top.

@iSmileForSub You're not too far off, but it's a lot more than that. It's modern self defense, there is no specific relationship to any other martial art just bits and pieces of whatever works.

@bkquiros I've studied krav for about 2 years and would recommend these dvd's there is a section with Amon Darsa (look him up he's part of IKMF). He's a G5 level and he's taught all over the world and did I was lucky enough to do a gun seminar with him a month ago - fucking amazing. I can personally vouch this his stuff and the things in this dvd are pretty top draw for the beginner to intermediate.
