Wasn't a big listener to country music in any form (mostly a 70's jazz/rock/soul ethusiast). Then one day in 1985 a Coast Guard buddy recommended a Chet Atkins' album titled "Stay Tuned". His guests included George Benson, Earl Klugh, Mark Knopfler, Larry Carlton, Boots Randolph and many other guitarists. From that point on I listened to Chet Atkins with new ears. He has a new fan. Great post.

@OneWorldHistory Maybe someone was using headphones. I have listened to quite a few records from Chet Atkins and every one of them made my ears itch when I listened with headphones. Chet's records always had Chet in one ear and everybody else in the other.

@LeeJTurnock A couple of the Dadi duets are on Chet's "Live on the Road" album.

@LeeJTurnock : and unfortunately Marcel Dadi died prematurely in the explosion of the TWA flight 800 leaving New York. We still miss him.

@OneWorldHistory - I agree with you. However, there are sickos who get kicks out of pushing old ladies out of wheel chairs or go around bullying people. These are the same trolls who go to places where decent music is played and get their jollies by giving it a thumbs down. Since they can't be arrested, the best thing to do is just ignore them. When I perform in public, and someone makes a gesture of scorn, I make a gesture pointing to the nearest exit.

@TurboVW2004 1967 according to All Music Guide. See my previous comment below for the specific albums.
This cover conjures up so many fond memories for me. Thanks for posting.

...um... why would anyone 'dislike' this? It's like giving thumbs down to a sunny day.

@OneWorldHistory I don't know. it puzzles me. Maybe their ears are so attuned to "rap" that their mind rejects real music when they hear it/.

Chet called that his "super lick" and he used it in quite a few tunes. He even detailed in one guitar magazine exactly how he did it.
