Leonard Roy Frank, Anti-psychiatry activist and psychiatric survivor discusses the Diagnostic and Statistic Manual of Mental Disorder which is put our by the American Psychiatric Association.

He gives an overview of mental disorders and role of psychiatry in controlling the nonconformists in society.

Mr. Frank edited the best-selling Random House Webster's Quotationary in 1998 and The History of Shock Treatment in 1978. Active in the psychiatric survivors movement since 1972, he is a member of MindFreedom International, a coalition of more than 100 grassroots groups working for human rights in psychiatry, and also The Coalition for the Abolition of Electroshock.

Suicide rates have actually decreased by about 10 percent since the mid 1980s.

There is some evidence that the suicide attempt rates have actually increased but the CDC doesn't keep very accurate data on attempt rates; just completed suicides.

Yep, the whole field of psychiatry is meant to label people and put them on massive amounts of dope. I work in the health care field, and I am continuously astonished at the number of psychiatric meds these witch doctor quacks have people on. @lashtal the problem is with the "diagnosis". Let me explain how those foreign agents actually change people's behaviours. First, it fucks with ur brain to the point that all your attention centers on how these drugs are messing with your physiology. So u (the patient) stops ur usual behaviour to focus on managing this mind-rape by pills.

Then after a while, your body learns to cope with the foreign agents and later on, the foreign agents destroy your natural ability to function. ....

I broke away at 22 after nearly being sucessful at sucide. I know the system. I am one small voice, but your words "No matter the risk, to resist and never surrender" I will now right this on my wall....I resisted and ran....one year later I met my husband and we married, have three children and a wonderful life
