In 1979 (b4 Regan) the CEO-worker pay ratio was 42:1- in 2000 it was 520:1! Real worker wages- YOUR wages have stagnated for 3 decades while top corporate wages have risen 15X- how can you justify this wealth distribution? How is the new conservative movement is unaware that they are NOT voting in their self interest- instead sold on archaic free market rhetoric that, while containing some truth, is only half of the picture. Why defend the 1% that has screwed you for DECADES? Im baffled.

Did I say I was defending anyone? It appears as though you want more laws to properly distribute this money. And who makes those laws? The politicians who get paid off by the lobbyists who work for the very same CEOs and corporations that were intended to be punished. Big mega corporations LOVE regulation, because they get to write it, and they can absorb any extra costs by various means. Meanwhile, it's the smaller companies who get screwed.

You're absolutely right, we can't reform this system it's too far gone, unfortunately we need a new one and unfortunately we're going to have to put our thinking caps on because a large scale and fair society has yet to exist, people are pretty content to say that their politician will fix everything, god help us, or satan or nothing, whatever floats your boat.

I want the politicians the hell out of the mess! Our system, had it remained in tact as the supreme law of the land, would not have resulted in what we have now. We don't need a new system. We just need to maintain the course that system originally had us on.

actually, with the increasingly rising costs of college, low income families are finding it harder to break out of the cycle. Unlike in england, where education use to be free, and you paid back it in tax, going to school was based purely on intellegence. Now, with education so expencive, inorder to earn money, you need to go to college. inorder to go to college, you need to have, atleast somewhat welloff parents.

because alot of intelligent people, who could go to college and earn lots of money, are unable to because of cost, and as a result, live off of benifits, costing the government more money over their lifetimes then an education. Also, people who go to college will earn more money and pay more taxes. So you still pay for your own college, its just you only need to earn money after you graduate, not before like you do now.

I must say, as much as the people at occupy dislike the cops 'help the population, take a vacation' alot of people dislike occupy more, and the police are the only people standing in the way of violent acts being carried out against occupy camps.

A future free of debt? These were the same protesters arguing for free college tuition. Do you realize how incredibly expensive that would be? and don't think the rich will pay for all of it. Many of the people that would be taxed more currently have trouble putting their own children through college, how will they put EVERYONE'S children through college?
