Waylon the king of outlaw music. In 2001, Waylon was playing in Tunica at Bluesville. My late wife and I had tickets. Got to the show. My wife got sick and the paramedics had to be called in. While they were attyending to my wife a security guaard got our name and address. Just be fore Christmas a large envelope arrived, with a return address Waylon Jennings, Nashville Tn. Inside was a 8 by 10 photo of Waylon signed "to Allen and Carlene, hope everything is ok, Waylon."

I have a story for all of you, When I was in high school, i entered into a talent contest, and I decided to play Waylon's Dont you think this outlaw bit's done got out of hand, and they pulled my plug and suspended me, I asked why, and they said "That song made several drug references, and that is strictly against the rules" When asked, what do you have to say for yourself? I said, "I dont think hank done it this way, but waylon did." I thought they were gonna crap themselves.

Dad told me a funny story one time.Back in the mid 70's,an old guy he knew went to a Waylon concert in Tulsa Ok. and he was so stoked that when Waylon came on he got up and started shouting,"Yea that's him that's him,that's Waylon,thats the man".Old dude knew what the hell he was talking about.

Eric Clapton NEVER made that comment! NEVER! The quote that you are referrencing is the one from the MTV interview, when Eric Clapton was asked about the guitar talents of Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Mr. Clapton responded:"HE's probably the BEST GUITARIST that I've ever heard!" Now Tom Frizzell, THAT is the statement that Eric made, and it NEVER was a referrence to Waylon, although Waylon is an amazing guitarist in his own right!

Tom Frizzell, I play these almost weekly just to watch his chickin' pickin'. I know that Eric Clapton once said Waylon was one of the best pickers of all time.
