High Sierra was kind enough to send us a couple backpacks, the Sentinel 65 and Explorer 55. These internal frame packs are versatile, comfortable, and good looking. They have tons of nice features, and are priced very reasonably. Check out the review for more, and be sure to stop by CampingGearTV.com for more camping gear video reviews!

  • the beginning made me lawl.

  • how do you think the high sierras would do in winter say climbing whitney and shasta in january

  • @theyounglinggig I think they would hold up.

  • Well you guys should be ashamed. Backpacking like you do is amazing. How have you not destroyed your gear? Those straps on the side are called SUPPRESSION straps. When you tighten those down it brings the load closer to your body. Hence stability. Also all the gear hanging off of the back when you clearly have room inside is insane if that gets hung up on something your other gear is gonna get damaged. The pads are fine but the bottles tripod etc and so on. The lids are not suppressed

  • @Spicymchagis We carry a lot of gear my friend. Ashamed? Hahaha, life is too short.

  • Just bought the explorer 55 for my hiking around Idaho this coming summer. Thanks for the review!

  • I've got this pack (65L) and love it! LOTS of room! You forgot the zipper that opens the sleeping bag compartment into the main compartment so that you have one contiuous bag. Anyway, great bag and you really can carry almost anything you want! Did is say LOTS of room?

  • @ATTICUSFINCH51 I've used them a bit more since this trip, not a ton though. We get backpacks in on a regular basis, so it's difficult to focus on using just one for a very extended amount of time.
