@noconflictbanana When tuned tight, it sounds sharper, not louder. The volume is the same, but the pitch is different, making it seem louder or softer.

@xEpicPyrox arguably you can get a louder sound from an extremly tight skin, if it was really loose theres no way it would be as loud as one that was tight

I own this snare, I run it with a remo coated CS batter, and a snare side ambassador reso. I actually find this snare quite allround this way. You don't necessarily need to crank it way up like adler does.
I've been using it as a side snare now, but I might order a Yamaha groove wedge for it, to give rimclicks a bit more beef, to make it fully capable of being a main snare.
It's a great drum, love it!
