Zendikar Block Constructed:
Vampires vs U/W Control Game 1

Hi guys.
I decided to take a break from Standard. And I'm sure many of you would probably be bored of watching me play Jacerator over and over again. So, I decided to play some Zendikar Block Constructed, and hopefully earn some Tix, on my way to going infinite on MTGO. The current deck I'm playing is mono-black Vampires. I've tried a couple of games with it and it is quite obvious that it is the strongest deck in Block, and it's not even close. Until Worldwake is out, there is really no reason to play any other deck. This deck is affordable to build, and is so powerful.

Haven't had the chance to play it in any Events yet, as I quite busy lately. The decklist will be up when I win in Daily Event, hopefully by next week.

Enjoy.

  • i dont believe spell pierce can counter the witch. i would have sludge personally.

  • What I meant to say was, I played Bloodwitch instead of Mind Sludge because I was afraid he would have Spell Pierced my Mind Sludge.

  • Lol. I was playing around a card that was probably not in his deck at all. I've seen some of the decklists running 4 Spell Pierce, so I was afraid he might have that... But he can't counter Bloodwitch with 1 mana, and it's really hard to deal with when it resolves, so I felt that it was the safest play. In Block, it is a little easier to predict what the opponent might have, since there are only so few counters available.

  • I think you made a slight misplay around 2:20. If you had responded to him casting Journey to Nowhere by disfiguring your bloodghast and saccing hexmage to take all the counters off like a land or something, you could have made him journey his own guy. In essence that's trading a hexmage for a lightcaster, which is definitely worth it there. It lets you get two more damage in the next turn, and leaves him NEEDING a DoJ to even survive. I agree with the mind sludge play, btw.

  • Turn 5 Mindsludge when he was tapped out would have ended the game

  • The UW guy made some misplays and used his DoJ and Counterspells too willy nilly

  • In zendikar, black always beats white. Malakir Bloodwitch ftw! A flying 4/4 with prot from white, oh and lose some life while i gain some.

  • Lol the UW control player is terrible. Day of Judgement on 1 creature?

  • what does going infinite mean?

  • Why not Mind Sludging him on turn 5?
