Trinidad and Tobago's Valene Maharaj at Miss World 2007

Valene made us all very proud when she charmed her way into the top 5 of the Miss World 2007 pageant. In this video you can see that she is clearly all-natural (not as rehearsed as the others) and quite a charmer.

It was also the first time Trinidad and Tobago tied with Sweden since the world cup 2006 when the Soca Warriors held the Swedes at bay 0-0. So Valene, your name will now forever be associated with two of our proudest moments on the international stage in recent times. :-)

Trinidad is off the coast of venezuela, our chief language is english, and we have all types of races, not just african. Im white and was born in trinidad and still live there. if there is anything else you would like to know, dont hesitate to ask! by the way, the reason you see so many black people is because we have a slave history.

I always thought that the majority of Trinidad and Tobago population were Blacks of African descent but that is not true Trinidad and Tobago is very diverse racially and ethnically in Trinidad and Tobago you have people of African descent, people of east Indian descent, Venezuelans, Spaniards, French Creoles, Portuguese, Chinese, Britons, Lebanese, Syrians, and Caribs and tons of mix multi cultural people

I was born and bread in Trinidad, I don't hear any difference in our speech, as for looking different, Well, Indians have feature like Indian and People of African decent have features unique to them.But we all get along, and racism is not a big part of our lives.

They never promote them by their names, just as a country - such psychology ... They call them, "Trinidad" and "China" ( re: "China, give Mexico a hug!" ) ... You can tell they're strict about the way these girls represent the nations they're from - you don't even know the person behind the crown, just the fact that, "India won in 1994" or, "Venezuela get the crown 2 years in a row". So much politics in everything... lol -_-

LOL @ 0:56 !!! --- HA HA HA The host freakin' tell the girl, "Aww! Let's give her a hug! China! Give Mexico a hug! Come on!" and then proceed to essentially shove their asses off the stage, like shoo b!tches... get away and cry somewhere else, LOL!! OMG she didn't have the decency to hug the girl herself, she decide to tell someone else to pass on the hug for her, even though she standing less than a foot away, lol! :D
