Colton was stung on the top of his head by a yellowjacket, 10 days ago. He woke up the next day with a headache, neck pain and hard to swallow. I was ready to take him to the Dr but after an ibuprofen he was fine. Until the evening...when he started shaking all over and fell to the groud because his feet and legs wouldn't work and then his arms wouldn't work. As I was preparing to rush him to the Dr, his limbs stiffened up and contorted. Once we got to the ER, he could walk and all was fine. (of course!) 5 days later he got severe hives around his ankles and all over his feet. Now it's 4 more days later and he wok up with a strange knot on his forehead and tonight it appeared to have grown and then the shaming started again. Maybe with a video somebody somewhere has an explanation. The Dr's here just say "he's weird".

  • oh ok this was sept 2010 i just noticed so then what now has become of this mom and colton????

  • @allmychildren9 We still have no answers but he hasn't exhibited this anymore either. I am still concerned that something will arise from it. I pulled the stinger out of his head, so I know it was a wasp. I discovered later that by pulling it out I released the venom into him. :-( The research I did supported my belief that it is serum sickness, although nothing was mentioned about the tremors. I insisted that we be given an epi pen, which I carry now. I truly appreciate your concern. :-)

  • It does sound like an allergic reaction to the wasp. I do find it odd that Doctors don't treat wasp stings with the same concern as bee stings.

  • has anything changed since this video mom has there been another opinion as to Colton's shaking memory loss aching muscles...seems like it might be a tick bite and lyme disease have seen those signs and symptoms in many where lyme ticks breed.....perhaps it was not a hornet at all just asking ..pleas elet us know if he is ok thanks i am concerned as you are take care

  • At least Caleio was thoughtful enough to tell you to ask the doctor. :)
