actually, gerard butler is scottish. i don't think he was ever trying to mock you. i understand the frustration of it - i'm canadian, and the eh joke is used all over the american television channels we get here.
but i know that gerard worked really hard to get at least kind of close to the irish accent, instead of the scottish one. and you have to applaud him for his attempt.

hi! im irish, i think i know what i sound like, and what the rest of the people in the country sound like, i obv cant speak for the irish that moved away from ireland, cause there accent will obv change a bit. but we soooooooooo dont sound like that! i know im gettin all bitchy, but its annoying all the time.. the americans mock us and its sooo OFFENSIVE! it makes me soo pissed off!
