bladybrunch, from my potrail of the song ... i think he meands that he was in love with a girl who would constantly cause him pain so by him saying "so save your scissors for someone elses ski,. my surface is so tough i dont think that the blade will dig in" he means that hes basically done with this girl and everything that she puts him through.... well thats what i got from it

omg, I love the tone of his acoustic, anyone know what kind he plays at the beginning by any chance??

I would love to see him live at least once in my life as "City and Colour"... saw Alexisonfire twice this year, but seeing Dallas alone on stage must be so.. magical!

There've been some good shows there. Most memorable: some douchebag who kept whining about the sound system and then walked off the stage three songs into his set. :-p

I think he is saying that he can't help that people fall in love with him because of his music. And the Save Your Scissors is saying save your criticizing words to the people who hate on him for it. He also says in the chorus that maybe next time it will be their time to shine, so don't hate.
