A journey that started as a 20-minute news capsule on Doordarshan, today boasts of being the No.1 news channel in the immensely cluttered news space.

On 17th July 1995 -- a new idiom in news broadcasting was created. Aaj Tak soon became the common man's window to the world. On 31st December 2000 -- this journey was taken to the next level with the launch of the 24 hrs channel. The canvas was bigger and the challenge tougher -- Aaj Tak once again emerged as the leader within months of its launch as a 24 hrs news channel.

Aggressive journalism, cutting edge reporting, innovative programming and passionate story telling have become the hallmark of the channel. Aaj Tak has successfully set the agenda for news broadcast and is credited not just for its own meteoric rise but also for the exponential growth of the entire genre.

As a build up to the anniversary -- a special programme has been conceptualized wherein viewers will be taken through a nostalgic trip down 10 years. The special capsule -- "10 saal se Aaj Tak" is being aired everyday till 17th July at 7:30 pm and 10:30 pm
