With Architect Your Home, we reinvented the architecture process, because the traditional way that people use architects, confused people. We wanted to make it much more approachable.

The process starts with what we call our initial visit which is either a half day or full day at home with the architect, usually around the kitchen table producing sketches with you sitting there. Its proved to be terribly, terribly popular. People love the fact that theyre part of that process.

Previously architects would typically take a brief, disappear for three weeks come back and go ta-dah; and it was often wrong. If a design is developed around the kitchen table with the customer there, they feel part of that process and they understand why certain decisions are taken and that they have a role to play.

Its very much more applicable to what they want, and I think theres a sense very often that the architect has an agenda, and thats quite wrong.
