Spock and Kirk - Aristotle and Averroes

This vid was made for ImaginarySanity's Star Trek Video contest-- when i posted this there were still two spots, so i hope i managed to slip in before the 50 vid limit...

Anyway, I first encountered this song as a Stargate Atlantis fanvid, and i thought it would make a good friendship vid for Spock and Kirk. I experimented with including clips from Search for Spock, and I was pretty satisfied with the result... I was trying to show the enduring nature of Spock and Kirk's friendship, and how, despite their differences, they develop this incredible bond.

Admittedly, I'm a K/S shipper, so this had some extra "aww" due to my permanently-affixed-to-my-face slash goggles, but I swear to God this made me cry.

I got chills when you compared the new boys to their predecessors.

The ending also was incredible, the way the music ended RIGHT before Jim says "Yes."

Averroes is the European lit name for Ibn Rushd.. He was a Muslim Polymath and studied all sorts of Philosophy (Aristotle's, Islamic, Maliki law, Psychology, Politics, Arabic music theory and so on).

If you google him you can find out way more but he was basically awesome :p
